About
History
The Invalid Carriage Register was set up circa 1995 by Julian who established the first records and argued strongly for the preservation of invalid carriage heritage with Governmenet and others. Stuart Cyphus then took over the ICR and ran the register until 2016 when he handed over to Simon Mckeown. His work was fundamental in establishing a broad record base and history and the ICR is indebted to him.
Stuart is now retired from involvement in the register and is working with Simon to develop publications and is supporting Simon in his efforts to continue to radically overhaul the appreciation of the British Invalid Carriage.
As mentioned elsewhere in this website you can help. We would love to see any carriage ephemera. Do you have photographs or super 8mm film of the carriages? We would love to take a look.
We would love to hear from you!
